Angry Birds Rio
“The birds flew home to Rio, and honestly, who could blame them.”
“A Virginian with bite; the porch is quieter now.”
Northern Neck Ginger Ale was a regional favorite sold in the Northern Neck region of Virginia, poured at local tables for 94 years. It was the kind of drink that belonged to a place — familiar, crisp, and quietly beloved by generations who never needed another ginger ale.
Production ended in 2020, closing out a run that stretched back to 1926 under the Northern Neck Bottling Co. and later The Coca-Cola Company. What remains is a region's worth of memories and an empty spot where the ice-cold bottles used to be.
