“Rented by the chapter, remembered by the shelf”

Netcomics was a Los Angeles-based publisher of manhwa, webtoons, manga, and comics, created by South Korean publisher Ecomix Media Company, with its first titles appearing in early 2006. It was considered one of the pioneers in the digital publication of manhwa and helped carry the Korean Wave to American readers. Fans could rent or buy English titles on the homepage or app — an unusually flexible way to read.

Along the way, Netcomics even stepped in to distribute some titles from Aurora Publishing until that manga house closed in April 2010. After nearly two decades of service, Netcomics ended on December 29, 2024. It leaves behind a legacy as an early bridge between Korean comics and English readers.
