“Nine LEDs, 5.7 inches of OLED, and a million living rooms turned into rabbit holes”
“Built brick by brick, and by kids: a corner of the internet that played nice.”
Lego Life was a social media platform created and owned by the Lego Group, launched on January 31, 2017 as a safe space for younger users. Themed after the Lego brand, it let kids share their Lego creations and interact with a community built for them, which is exactly why people loved it.
After seven years, Lego retired the app in 2024, closing the book on a platform that had quietly done its job. It leaves behind a simple, hopeful memory: a social network made for kids that actually was. Some builds, like some memories, get taken apart so the bricks can be used again.
