Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game
“The stars were finally right, in 2015.”
“Dealt a final hand in 1997; the deck was good, the ending was not.”
Dark Eden was an out-of-print collectible card game designed by Bryan Winter and published by Target Games. It shared its name with a fortress in the Legacy of Kain games and a novel by Chris Beckett, but for card players, Dark Eden was the game itself. Collectible card games thrive on community, and those who played it clearly kept fond memories of it.
The game went out of print in 1997, ending its run while it still had fans who cared. Being out of print makes it a curiosity for collectors, but it also earns it a place among the dearly departed. It is remembered here alongside the fortress and the novel that borrowed its good name.
