Ameprod Television Game 10
“Ten thousand proud first years, and a lightgun named Videotraf to prove it.”
“The last TV Jack brought its brains to the family reunion, then retired.”
The Bandai Super Vision 8000, also known as the TV Jack 8000, was a home video game console released by Bandai in 1979, part of the second generation. It connected directly to your TV, no fuss, no adapters beyond the set you already owned. For fans, it was the sophisticated one in the household — the console that finally had a central CPU of its own.
By 1982 it was discontinued, and with it the TV Jack series ended. It was the last and strangest of the family: where its predecessors were first-generation Pong-style machines built from discrete logic circuits, the Super Vision 8000 stood apart with an actual microprocessor. It left as it lived — the odd one out, quietly ahead of the relatives it closed the door on.
