“The last TV Jack brought its brains to the family reunion, then retired.”
“Ten thousand proud first years, and a lightgun named Videotraf to prove it.”
The Ameprod Television Game 10 was a dedicated first-generation console built in Poland by Elwro starting in 1978, later handed off to PPZ Ameprod. It came with six built-in games, four of which were playable right out of the box. For the full six, you needed the separately sold lightgun called Videotraf — a name that alone deserves a toast.
About 10,000 consoles sold in the first three years, and by the time production ended in 1984, roughly 100,000 Ameprod TVG-10 units had found homes. That is a slow, steady, dignified run for a machine that asked so little and gave a living room so much. It did not die young; it simply finished its game.
