The first consumer model, the CV1, arrived in March 2016 and was succeeded by the Rift S in March 2019. In April 2021, the Rift S was discontinued, closing out the Rift line after nearly a decade. Its software library lives on, a lasting gift from a headset that proved VR could belong to everyone.
