Mythos was a collectible card game published by Chaosium from 1996 to 1997, drawing on the Cthulhu Mythos stories of horror author H. P. Lovecraft and on Chaosium's own Call of Cthulhu role-playing game. Players who loved the Mythos already loved the dread of it — a game where the horror canon itself became something you could hold in your hands and play with friends.
The game went out of print in 1997, after only two years in circulation. It left behind the rare distinction of being a card game based on stories about things that refuse to die. The Mythos, of course, endures — but Mythos the card game now rests among the out-of-print.
