Macintosh Quadra 610

???? — 1994 · Apple Computer
retired Reported · 1994

“Born a Centris, died a Quadra, served everyone a slice of pizza box all the same.”

The Macintosh Quadra 610 began life in February 1993 as the Centris 610, the start of Apple's new midrange line and successor to the Macintosh IIsi. It wore a slim pizza box case, only the second Mac design to do so, and found its way into businesses and even server rooms via the Workgroup Server 60 variant.

Later in 1993, Apple folded it into the Quadra family after deciding to name lines by their target customers, and in 1994 a DOS Compatible model with an added i486SX tested whether Mac fans wanted to run DOS too. Discontinued in July 1994, its pizza box case lived on in the Quadra 660AV and Power Macintosh 6100.
