Keyhole, commonly known as Maoyan Kanren — literally Looking at Human Beings from a Cat's Eye — was a renowned Chinese current affairs and politics forum, established in Haikou in April 2000. For years it was a gathering place for people who cared about the world and wanted to argue about it together.
On March 30, 2021, the forum was closed, ending a run of more than twenty years. What it left behind is the memory of a rare corner of the internet where current affairs were discussed with wit and company for two decades.
