Coca-Cola Spiced launched in February 2024 as a blend of raspberry and spiced flavors, billed as the company's first permanent new drink in North America since 2020. It came in both classic and Zero Sugar variants, aimed squarely at winning over the next generation of cola drinkers. The raspberry choice wasn't a guess — fans had punched that button on Freestyle machines more than 5 million times in 2022.
The flavor never quite landed; critics noted the complete lack of authentic spice, and the drink missed the company's commercial targets. By September 2024, Coca-Cola had announced its plans to phase it out, alongside Cherry Vanilla, by late 2025. It leaves behind a brief, fizzy lesson: sometimes the machine knows best, and sometimes it doesn't.
