Dell Latitude
“It survived every drop, spill, and quarterly review. In the end, only a rebrand could stop it.”
“Blog on, old friend. Your permalinks outlived the platform.”
Typepad was a blogging service beloved by a generation of writers, launched in the era when personal websites felt like home. It passed through the hands of Six Apart, then SAY Media (born of the merger of Six Apart and VideoEgg), and finally Endurance International Group. For its loyal users, it was the quiet, dependable place where their words lived.
In August 2025, the site announced it would shut down that September, and on September 30, 2025, Typepad was discontinued. The end came with notice rather than a midnight disappearance, a courteous goodbye after a long run. What it leaves behind is a corner of the early blogosphere, remembered fondly by those who wrote there.
